When using 3/16" screws, it is recommended to utilize a 5/32" drill bit, while for 1/4" screws, a 3/16" drill bit should be used. Moreover, it is essential to ensure that the depth of the hole exceeds the embedment of the screw by at least 1/2", taking into account any material displacement.
